Chitta Art - Highlights
Chittaranjan Das
India has a rich tradition of jewellery designing and we have many forms of design unique to various regions. This traditional knowledge now needed a strong fusion of the understanding of international designs as our jewellery industry caters to a vast international market.
Mr. Chittaranjan Das realized the need to educate new designers at a time when various units in SEEPZ and other places started coming up on strong export growth. Himself a reputed designer, Chittaranjan Das has worked with hundreds of jewellery markets, companies and showrooms and has made a name for himself for his knowledge in a very short span. He was quick in recognizing that even though Indian jewellery is quite beautiful, its resource base is not sufficient in sustaining occidental and western tastes and this must be understood to be able to satisfy the overseas markets.
Mr.Das set up Chitta Arts in1985 and has since filled a necessary space for jewellery Industry. The industry has eagerly lapped up his trained hands and over Three Decades now, Chitta Arts has the unique distinction of preparing over a thousand artists which consists of more number of designers currently employed in Seepz, India’s premium jewellery exporting zone.
